Asda Foundation donates £1,000!

Today, we were delighted to receive a cheque of £1,000 from The Asda Foundation, Southampton to help us purchase some hand chimes and a couple of tablets. Following on from the success of our recently launched choir, the plan is to use the hand chimes at our lunch club(s), encouraging members to join in with musical activity which promotes socialising, light physical activity and, most importantly, lots of fun! We may also invite a local school to join in and play along with us and will be planning a launch party so keep checking in for updates.

The two tablets are going to help us educate clients and volunteers on all things IT – emails, apps, online shopping etc. Although we would always recommend people attend the IT sessions run by Age UK – details here – this will allow us to give additional advice and to take the tablets into people’s homes for direct support. More details to follow.

Huge thanks to The Asda Foundation and to Chris at Asda for helping us through the application process!
