2024 AGM & Annual Report
The 2023-24 AGM is now complete. Thank you to County Bowling Club in Northlands Rd, for hosting us again – what a wonderful venue, set in beautiful grounds, even if it was pouring down outside!
Thank you also to all of those that came. It was so lovely to see all of you and share in some delicious cake from Communibakes Bakery.
The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chair Debbie Burns, who oversaw reports from the Manager, Annie Clewlow and Finance & Fundraising Coordinator, Emily Arbery. Darren Crispin & Carolyn Page were reelected as trustees, and Adrian Littlemore was congratulated at being voted in as our latest trustee addition. Debbie Burns thanked the other nominees, who had previously told Barrie that they would happily be ‘Trustees in waiting’ if they were not elected.
Adrian says “I first became aware of Communicare through my work with the local NHS and City Council, where I was involved in commissioning health and social care services. This experience gave me valuable insight into how local services support people across Southampton, and deepened my interest in key issues such as loneliness, unpaid carers, and health and wellbeing.
“After retiring, I welcomed the opportunity to get more directly involved in making a difference by joining Communicare as a trustee.
“Outside of my trustee role, I enjoy staying active—whether that’s playing sports, walking my dog, or exploring different cultures through travel. I bring both professional knowledge and personal passion to supporting the charity’s mission of helping people feel valued and connected in their community.”
Volunteer long service certificates were handed out – the longest given to Ken Amy for 25 years! David Thomas, who received his 15 years certificate, cut the ‘Thank You Volunteers’ cake, which we all enjoyed sampling!
