People from Southampton who live, work or run businesses in the city are being asked to express their views on how it can become a Mental Health Friendly City.
The survey can be found online at https://bit.ly/3ljfyx2 and views should be submitted by April 30 2021. Anyone who has already completed the survey, doesn’t need to do so again.

Should Communicare create a special group of Mental Health Befrienders?
A sympathetic listening ear can be a real lifeline at this difficult time. Will you help us with our Awards for All bid for Mental Health Befrienders by completing a short survey?
We are bidding so that we can continue to support, and expand our services for the people with mental health challenges, who sadly, tend to stay on our waiting list longer than those without. We’d love to put together a team of Mental Health Befrienders and are putting in the bid to finance the initial training our volunteers will need, as well as the ongoing support and advice throughout their time volunteering with us.
We really need your help to support us with this and the survey only takes a couple of minutes – please share as the more people that answer, the more weight our bid will carry. Click here for the survey. Thank you.
Back in January 2020 we held two highly successful engagement days which were attended by many of SMHN’s members. Dr David Kingdon Emeritus Professor at the University of Southampton addressed the audience with a keynote speech about the importance of the Mental Health Network and what he hopes it is going to achieve.
