£1,000 could make a big difference to the work we do helping relieve isolation and loneliness in the city of Southampton. That’s why we’d be really grateful if you could nominate us in the Ecclesiastical Movement for Good awards. Your nomination could be the one that wins us £1,000!

If we did win, we would be able to involve 1,000 people in postal projects that keep everyone connected. Many of those we help don’t have internet access and are likely to remain in isolation for some months to come. They have loved the letters and cards we have been able to send already, including our recent VE day cards to celebrate the coming of peace 75 years ago.

City resident Doreen Smith, aged 83, received our brightly coloured VE day card, which featured all our office staff, some of our volunteers and service users. She says: “It was lovely to receive the card, to see all those lovely faces and to know that we are being thought about. I miss being able to see everyone and am really looking forward to when we can get together again.”

The awards are designed to give eligible charities in the UK and Republic of Ireland the financial assistance they need to help them make a real difference. In total, 500 charities stand to gain £1,000 and we’d love to be one of them.
