Why Not Use Your Daily Exercise Allowance To Run Or Walk A ‘Virtual’ 10k, Half Or Full Marathon Over Several Days And Fundraise For Communicare?

The ABP Southampton Marathon which was originally going to happen on Sunday 26th April has been postponed until Sunday 9th August.

Rees Leisure who organise the marathon have been working hard to find the best option to encourage everyone to safely enjoy the allowed exercise time, and still be rewarded for their efforts. They have kindly given us some free  ‘virtual’ running spaces as this is a great way for people to use their daily exercise allowance, because under Ree’s new guidelines people don’t have to do the run all in one go – they can spread it over many days until 31st July, and the accumulative distance will count. So for example, if you want to run a marathon you could run a mile or two every week so long as it added up to 26 miles by the 31st July and you follow all of Rees Leisure’s guidelines at https://www.abpsouthamptonhalf.co.uk/event-info/virtual-run/

Please contact us at events@communicareinsouthampton.org.uk if you would like to sign up for a virtual 10k, half or full marathon and raise funds for us (places are on a first come first served basis). We simply ask for a £10 registration fee to cover our admin and that you pledge to raise at least £30 in sponsorship.

Please also contact us if you’d like to run and raise funds for us on the new marathon date of Sunday 9th August. We look forward to hearing from you!
