Communicare and Highfield Church' Christmas Tea Party

Communicare and Highfield Church’ Christmas Tea Party

Over 80 guests attended our joint Christmas Tea Party with Highfield Church at the weekend. There were over 30 Communicare clients and around 40 guests were from Highfield Church’ community. There was plenty of party food of the best kind including cheese and crackers and mince pies and cakes. A jazz quartet played while guests arrived in their best Christmas attire and later on carols were sung and played on the piano; all musicians were from the church and gave up their time voluntarily to provide the entertainment for the tea party. A Communicare volunteer who works over full-time hours as a volunteer dressed up as Father Christmas and brought his grandchildren who acted as his Elves; he gave out presents to everyone including other volunteers and staff and guests. Cynthia and her incredible kitchen team ran the show. Melodie our fundraising coordinator provided a fun Christmas quiz but the biggest thanks goes to all at Highfield Church and our volunteer Gary for being incredibly hospitable and generous. The cakes were kindly donated by Highfield Church members but the majority of the costs for food and decorations were supplied through Communicare’s Comic Relief funding for community tea parties.
