The Rockstone raises funds for Communicare

Communicare has had a boost in its funds thanks to being local pub The Rockstone’s chosen charity at their 175th birthday celebrations.

An incredible £195 was donated to Communicare from the raffle that was held over the duration of the festivities, which is enough to fund over 144 transport requests at 3 miles per trip.

Back in March, The Rockstone, a local country-style pub in Bevois Valley, held a weekend of celebrations including games, activities, and talks from local community groups, in honour of their 175th year since its inception.

Communicare were ecstatic to be invited by Dave Thomas, General Manager at The Rockstone, to partner as their chosen charity. It was also a really good opportunity to share information about what Communicare does; an information table was set up at the event including leaflets and other information that were displayed over the three day celebration about what good neighbourly services are offered by kind-hearted volunteers such as befriending, transport, helping young families and low level DIY and gardening.

Being donated this money means that services such like taking clients to medical and social appointments can be maintained and the good work done by its volunteers can continue.

Communicare are very grateful for the kind support that has been shown and for the funds donated and hope that they will partner again in the future.
