Young Visitors Project update

We are now seven months into our Young Visitors’ Project in partnership with Northlands House Bupa Care Home and would like to recruit more 16–19-year-olds to assist us.

We need volunteers, so we can continue with our group activities and also visit some residents who are unable to come out of their rooms.

Both students and residents have loved getting together.

Ottilie, now a seasoned YPV volunteer, says “I highly recommend this, as it’s very rewarding and enjoyable. I love going in and hearing people’s experiences, life stories and having a positive impact upon the residents.”

Do please share this invitation with young people you know, so that more residents who may currently feel isolated, can benefit from their company.

Not only does it build their confidence and give a sense of fulfilment to make someone else’s life better, but it’s also good for their future work prospects to show a broader area of interests and experiences.
