Chat Together hits the right notes!

We’ve been opening a wide variety of multigenerational friendship groups across Southampton during the past year and launched our Chat Together club in January.

For all ages

It’s a monthly event at Valentine Primary School in Sholing that offers children a chance to build friendships with adults of all ages from their community.

This week we were treated to a singalong led by ukelele band Uke Box Glory.

The band is excellent when it comes to audience engagement and getting everyone to shake something and singalong.

Monday afternoons termtime

Chat Together is held on Monday afternoons once a month during termtime and we would love to hear from people of all ages living in and around Sholing who would benefit from engaging with our service users and the children.

It’s great fun and very good for the children to have older people to interact with. It builds their confidence and their communication skills, as well as building understanding and mutual appreciation between the generations.
