Brass band performs at free Coronation concert for us!

A Southampton brass band is performing at a free Coronation celebration concert in Woolston on May 8 (2023) to help raise funds for two worthy causes – and one of them is us!

HAMWIC Brass will be at Woolston Community Centre, Church Road, Woolston (SO19 9FU) on the Bank Holiday Monday from 2.30pm to mark King Charles III’s investiture and to raise funds for us and The Shore Pre-school.

Relax and enjoy the music

Event organiser, Barry Wake says: “Woolston Community Association would like to invite people to a brass band concert in celebration of the King’s Coronation. Please come along and relax and enjoy the music in the grounds of Woolston Community Centre on Church Road. Coffee and tea will be served and people can bring their own cake!

“The event is free to attend. However, we are inviting donations on the day to two nominated charities – Communicare and The Shore Pre-school. The latter have taken over from the previous incumbents at very short notice and from a standing start financially, so they urgently need donations.”

Toe-tapping, joyous celebration

Annie Clewlow, our Manager, says: “We are so grateful to Woolston Community Association for choosing us as one of the recipients for any funds raised at the event. It sounds like it’ll be a wonderful toe-tapping, joyous celebration for all generations to enjoy and a great opportunity to get out and about for anyone who may be on their own on Monday, May 8.”
