Cuppas Friendship Club

Cuppas Friendship Club

We are supporting the Cuppas Friendship Club at King’s Church in Lordswood on Thursdays (monthly).

Come along to our next meeting

In January we launched a new multigenerational friendship club in Lordswood in partnership with Oakwood Primary School and King’s Church and it was a huge hit with our service users and everyone else who attended, so we’re inviting anyone else out there who might want a bit of company, to come along.

Attendees were able to talk to pupils from Oakwood Primary School and they said they found it thoroughly enjoyable talking to the youngsters.

Social isolation in our society

A key element to isolation in our society is the breakdown of relationships and understanding between the generations. Many older adults have contact with children only rarely and vice versa.

It is such a pleasure to see the joy on the faces of young and old at these events and we’re all looking forward to the next one.

Interested in attending?

Anyone interested in attending the next group should contact enquiry@communicareinsouthampton.org.uk or call 023 82 50 0050 in advance.

Feedback

Irja discovered Cuppas this term and has been loving it. Here she is with our Tricia, Joy from Kings church and two lovely pupils who thoroughly enjoyed exchanging news about their lives and preferences with the adults on their table that week. Good cake always helps too! Everyone is welcome to join us for some multigenerational fun in the autumn on these dates.
