AGM & Volunteer Celebration 2022

In our 32nd year, we were thrilled to have so many attend our AGM & Volunteer Celebration Event.

Updates were given on the 2021-22 financial year, with events, numbers helped and finances all discussed. We then had a brief talk from Annie on our future plans and had a discussion on her presentation about the consultations on our charitable objects. She finished the presentation by saying that we can all make a difference. We were also delighted to welcome two new Trustees, Darren Crispin and Lenka Fremerova! Learn more about them here.

David Thomas and Hannah Silver were thanked for their services to Communicare as they stood down as Trustees at the end of their terms. See post here for more info.

Later, volunteer Colin Wright talked to us about Glaucoma UK. He brought some leaflets related to the eye clinic, glaucoma and driving, and putting in eye drops properly. He also brought some things you can use to help people with bad wrists to put their eye drops in. Any questions about this can be directed to Colin.

After the official AGM, we gathered for drinks and chat, before enjoying time together with food and games (it had been a while since we’d last joined in on a beetle drive – we forgot how competitive it can get!). Volunteers were awarded long service certificates; several had reached 20 years and Sheila Price 30 years – wow!
