Big thanks to Virgin Media 02 who have provided a grant for Hello Southampton

We’re really grateful to Virgin Media 02 who have provided a grant to assist our Hello Southampton telephone project which helps lonely and isolated people in Southampton.

Thanks to the donation from Virgin Media 02 we gave our Hello Southampton volunteers a tea party last Sunday to say thank you to them for all they bring to the project.

We’d love more volunteers to come and join Hello Southampton – just one hour a week of your time could make all the difference to a lonely and isolated person.

Our volunteers make short ‘check in’ phone calls (no longer than ten minutes each) to see how the service user is doing. For some service users it will be the only chance they get to speak to another person that day.

You would need access to a tablet, computer or laptop, and a phone, and be available on a weekday morning as the phone slots are for one hour between 9am-1pm.
