Barn Dance Fundraiser

Communicare’s Barn Dance at Highfield Church

Book your tickets now!

Our trustee, Carolyn Page, has organised the fundraiser. There will be dancing, live music, and a buffet supper. Hampshire-based folk band Threepenny Bit will be playing. Threepenny Bit are described as ‘bursting with energy’ by Martin Chilton from The Telegraph. They are a mix of talented classical and jazz musicians; a dynamic 8-piece group. With instruments such as saxophone, clarinet, flute, fiddle, guitar, accordion, and electric bass they bring a contemporary sound to go with the traditional dance. There is no better band to accompany a Ceilidh. FATEA magazine have described them as ‘the go-to ceilidh band in the South.’ If you think you can’t dance, don’t worry. There will be an expert caller to guide you along. Fancy bringing your own booze? No problem. You are invited to bring a bottle or two, please do so!

The dance will be held at the beautiful Highfield Church. The venue is both warm and welcoming. Tickets cost £15 per person but this includes the buffet (which means you’ll not go hungry!). It’s happening on Saturday 24 February 7.30pm-11pm.

This event requires that you have lots of fun and don’t take yourself too seriously. It also requires a kind heart. At the core of this fundraiser we are hoping to continue our services such as befriending and providing transport to hospital appointments to lonely and isolated people in Southampton. All funds raised will go to Communicare in Southampton.

Tickets can be purchased online at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/Communicarebarndance or call the office on 023 8021 6023.
