Runner roundup: Ren runs to support our life-changing work
At 27, Keren, who likes to be called Ren, is preparing for her very first half marathon, as part of the the 2026 ABP Southampton Marathon in May, and she’s doing it in support of us, a charity close to her family’s and her heart.
Ren’s mum, Sally Ann, is one of our Trustees. Through her, Ren has seen close-up the meaningful, life-changing work our charity does at a neighbourhood level for vulnerable and isolated people across Southampton.
Life-changing
Her reason for running is deeply personal. She says: “I believe that taking care of others in the community is life-changing and it’s so great to see the charity valuing other humans’ lives.”
Running journey
Ren’s running journey began when she wanted to build up her mental strength and resilience after recovery from addiction and the ABP Southampton half marathon represents a milestone she’s determined to reach.
Her goal is simple and powerful: to finish without walking.
She’s working hard to hit her target and is recovering from her training runs with her favourite snack: a refreshing smoothie!
Community spirit
Every mile that Ren runs is a celebration of growth, hope and community spirit and we’re so proud to have her on Team Communicare.
The 2026 ABP Southampton Marathon takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, and includes a 10km, half marathon and full marathon.
How to sponsor Ren
