Runners raise £1,676 for us at Marathon

Runners from Southampton who ran in the ABP Southampton Marathon on Sunday (April 2, 2023) have helped raise £1,676 for us.

Our team of runners participated in the 5km and half marathon races.

A fantastic fundraiser

What a fantastic amount raised by our Communicare running team. Everyone did a fantastic job and we’re so proud of them for completing their various races and for choosing to raise money for us in the first place.

Congrats to our runners

Our runner Imogen Naegeli, who was challenged by her sister to take on the half marathon, managed an amazing time of two hours and 20 minutes and raised £578.32 for us. Kevin Sawers, who juggled his way around the route, completed the 5k in an impressive time of 32 minutes and four seconds and raised £750 in total, off and online for us.

Fantastic job

Our other wonderful fundraising runners, who did a fantastic job for us, were Naomi Gregory, Adrian Robinson, Zara Fardell, Deborah Robinson and Rebecca Beddall from the Communicare staff team.

The money raised will go a long way to furthering the work we do to help vulnerable and isolated individuals in Southampton.

Some paw-some support

It was also great to see our human sized Communibear cheering runners and lending a paw in support on the day too. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time out of their day to cheer the runners on.
