Volunteer Conference Day a great success

Volunteer Conference Day a great success

Well our first Volunteer Conference Day has been a great success! Over 60 people attended to share in workshops, discussions, lunch and a blue sky-thinking session. Volunteers also had the opportunity to talk to many of our partner organisations throughout the lunch period.

One volunteer gave feedback, “Sincere thanks to… the ‘team’ for such an enjoyable and enlightening day on Saturday. We both came away feeling better equipped to deal with many aspects of dementia suffering and more able to cope with a close relative who has this problem”. Two more wrote “Very enjoyable and useful day – hopefully the first of plenty more? Well done to everyone who contributed!” and “Only made the morning but the workshop I attended was very good and there was a lovely atmosphere. Hopefully they’ll be a next time when Saints aren’t playing at home in the afternoon!”.

Huge thanks go out to all of our partner organisations and workshop speakers for getting involved, to Southampton Sight for letting us use the fab venue and helping to set up/clear away and to Spectrum Signs for our wonderful new sign and banner! Special thanks and congratulations also go out to Coordinator Vicky for organising her first volunteer event – didn’t she do a great job?!

Hope to see you at the next one, but for now – if you’d like to follow up anything from the day or need any further information, please either call 023 8021 6016 or contact us via our website here.
