We’re launching our NEW Craft & Games Club!
We’re delighted The Barker Mill Foundation have sent us £1,000 to help us launch our Craft & Games! The idea is to share the joy of crafts and games with isolated people at home and at local friendship clubs (essentially befriending with added fun!).
Benefits
- Helps befrienders and service users develop relationships
- Gives more purpose to befriending visits, especially beneficial for those visiting people with dementia.
- Encourages hand exercise, particularly beneficial for those with arthritis
- Social time for volunteers prepping the activities
- Reach new volunteers with a passion for crafting and/or games
Ways to get involved
- Take a lead on designing simple crafts
- Volunteer to prep crafts
- Source games to share / library
- Volunteer to share crafts/games with service users in their homes
- Volunteer to lead a craft/game session at a current friendship club
If you’d like to get involved, please speak to the Coordinator team on 023 8250 0050 or email: volunteer@communicareinsouthampton.org.uk
